ABLE National Resource Center (ANRC) is a collaborative whose supporters share the goal of accelerating the design and availability of ABLE accounts for the benefit of individuals with disabilities and their families. We bring together the investment, support and resources of the country’s largest and most influential national disability organizations.

Arc Legislative Action Center The National Arc has an excellent resource to help families keep up to date on legislative issues affecting children and adults with disabilities. The Legislative Action Center will provide you with a guide to your federal, state and local elective officials. It also has a list of Action alerts, important issues, recent votes, current legislation, and more. Let’s make an effort to make a difference!

Assistive Technology Training Online Project (ATTO) The Assistive Technology Training Online Project (ATTO) provides information on AT applications that help students with disabilities learn in elementary classrooms.

Autism Society of America

Best Buddies The mission of Best Buddies is to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Do2Learn Do2Learn has activities to promote independence in individuals with special learning needs. Great site!

Exceptional Parent Exceptional Parent provides information, support, ideas, encouragement and outreach for parents and families of children with disabilities, and the professionals who work with them.

Family & Advocates Partnership in Education (FAPE) The Family & Advocates Partnership in Education (FAPE) website is a new project which aims to inform and educate families and advocates about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 1997 (IDEA 97).

Flash! Pro2 CD-ROM The Flash! Pro2 CD-ROM contains the most comprehensive set of over 8500 color photo images in 65 categories that you can easily select, preview and print as flash cards to teach speech and language.

Handwriting Without Tears Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) is the easy way to teach pre-printing, printing and cursive! It was developed by Jan Z. Olsen, OTR, an occupational therapist and handwriting specialist.

Parents’ Guide to Special Education in North Carolina The Duke Children’s Law Clinic has produced a comprehensive Guide for parents of children with special education needs. The Guide explains the special education law in clear terms so that parents can learn the vocabulary, navigate the special education system, and become an effective advocate for their children. The Guide is especially geared to assist North Carolina parents.

Scholarships and Financial Aid for Students with Disabilities  AffordableColleges.com’s mission is to help you earn your degree without taking on thousands of dollars in debt. Their site is a free resource designed to help everyone address the costs of college while pursuing their goals. They can show you the path to a reasonably priced higher education.

Sensory Resources Sensory Resources offers resources for raising children sensory-motor, developmental, and social-emotional challenges.

Special Needs Advocates for Parents (SNAP) The mission of SNAP is to provide information, education, advocacy and referrals to families with special needs children of all ages and disabilities.
